Experimental Analysis of Screw Compressor Noise and Vibration

چکیده
Very few reports have been presented to date on the noise and vibrational characteristics of oil injected screw compressors. This time. a series of extensive experimental analysis is performed. It includes the measurements and analysis of compressor casing vibrations. rotor shafts vibrations, torsional <rotational) vibrations. suction and discharge gas pulsations. pressure trans~ ient in one thread of rotors ana compressor noise. These experiments are done mainly with R-22 gas, and the operating speed of compressor continuously varied up to 4400 RPM in some test conditions. The tested compressors are mainly 1SOL<163mm ,long rotor). Analyzed results of these experiments help to explain the major noise and 'vibrational characteristics of standard oil injected screw compressors. Noise and Vibration Characteristic Studies of Twin Screw Compressor in Different Operating Conditions
The tonal noise or vibration of air-cooled or water-cooled chillers with rotary twin screw compressors is crucial for environmental concerns. This work aims to perform the receiver tests regarding the radiated noise and structural vibration due to the compressor in different operating conditions. The sound pressure near the compressor is recorded by the one-third octave and narrow band frequenc...
متن کاملEffects of Impeller Gap on Rotor Vibration in a High Speed Centrifugal Compressor: A Numerical and Experimental Analysis (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Centrifugal compressors produce high pressure ratio and rotate at speeds. So, a tiny unbalance can produce severe vibration. In this paper, effects of impeller gap on rotor vibration in a high speed centrifugal compressor is investigated. For this purpose, a numerical and experimental analysis are carried out. The moving reference frame method in FLUENT software is used for modeling of geometri...
متن کاملVibration Analysis of an Air Compressor Based on a Hypocycloidal Mechanism: an Experimental Study
In this paper, the experimental vibration analysis of a single cylinder air compressor based on a hypocycloid straight line mechanism (HSM) is investigated. The HSM mechanism uses planetary gears to convert rotational motion to purely linear motion. In the conventional air compressor, the slider- crank mechanism is replaced by the HSM mechanism with appropriate counterweights. The constructed s...
متن کاملOrder analysis of serpentine belt transverse vibration
Transverse vibration of the serpentine belt is effective at noise and durability of it. Therefore, understanding of this phenomenon and studying effective parameters can be used in the process of reducing belt noise and increasing life time. In this paper, transverse vibration of serpentine belt is measured experimentally and analyzed. In the implementation test steps, the displacement of the b...
متن کاملNoise Source Identification in Semi-Hermetic Twin-Screw Compressors
The sound radiation characteristics of a semi-hermetic twin-screw compressor were studied while operating under controlled laboratory conditions at the Ray W. Herrick Laboratories of Purdue University. A fully-condensing load stand was designed to allow the 70 ton chiller system to be operated at the three standard loading capacities of the compressor. The load stand was operator controlled and...
